As someone in retail finance I can tell you that the Banks aren’t giving any relief in regards to credit ?
I do Finance at an Auto store and I can tell you first hand that the banks have not loosened up at all.. I have state Employees with high 600’s-to low 700’s that are getting turned down daily… and not because of Debt to income. These people are coming in with half down and they still can’t get done ?????
They sold us the bailout based on buying up neg Mortgage assets and stabilizing the market, then that changed to “Cash Infusions” for the banks to steady them.. even though the US population would never have gone for that, however as it morphed, it seemed we had no choice.. but now months down the road and the credit situation has not improved in fact I could make an argument that it’s become worse ?
where is the benefit from that (Gaff) Bailout anyway ? .. and can we get a refund ?

The sellouts/bailouts will not and CAN NOT work. Ultimately the markets and the economy has to find its own level. The bailouts just delay that from happening.
Banks aren’t giving credit for 1 huge reason., They are still saddled with the millstone of inflated Real Estate debt on Real Estate values that are still falling. It’s a lose/lose situation.
The bailouts and this latest “stimulus” package are nothing more than the Government writing worthless checks on an overdrawn account, and most people with a brain know it.
The analogy is this: try writing checks on your personal account when it’s overdrawn. 2 things will happen, No one will accept your checks pretty fast, and you’ll eventually end up in jail.
The same will happen to the Country. No one will take our checks anywhere in the world, and we’ll end up in credit jail on a credit hold.
